Creation of Dashboard Prompt

Step : 1

Create a new Dashboard Prompt using the “Sales Orders” Subject Area.

Step : 2

Create a new Column Prompt on the Time.Year column and configure it as follows:

– User Input:                Choice List

– Choice List Values:    Specific Column Values, 2007-2012

– Disable option”Enable user to select multiple values”

– Default Selection :   Server Variable,2012

Step : 3

Create a new Column Prompt on the Customer. Customer Number column and configure it as follows

-User Input: Check Boxes

Create a new column prompt on the Facts-sales Order Lines.# of Orders column and configure it as follows :

– User Input:               Check Boxes

-Check Boxes Width:  Dynamic

Preview Dashboard Prompt

Observe that when you select a new value in the “Year” prompt.

Save Your Dashboard Prompt as the following:

– My Folders

– Dashboard prompt for Customer Sales Orders

Addition of Dashboard Prompt to Dashboard Page

 

Step : 7

Go to your “My Dashboard” and open up the Dashboard Editor

Add a new Column to the left of the existing Column on the ” Customer sales Orders ” Dashboard Page.

Add your Dashboard Prompt to this new Column :

– Folder : My Folders

– Name : Dashboard Prompt for sales Orders

Step : 9

Open up the Section “Properties” for new Section containing the Dashboard Prompt and configure as followes:

– Disable the “Collapsible” option

– Remove the Section border

Save your Dashboard Page and then run it!

Test by choosing a random selection of filter criteria.
