Creating a Dashboard in Oracle BI Cloud

Step 1: Sign in to Cloud by providing your credentials.

Step 2: In the OBICS home page Click on the Dashboards link.


Step 3: When the dashboards link opens click on Create Dashboard button to create a new dashboard.

Step 4: In the New dashboard dialog box write the name of the dashboard you want to create. Browse into the Catalog.


Step 5: Choose your folder under the my folders and click OK.

Step 6: There will be a warning message that this dashboard will not appear in the “Dashboards” menu. Click OK.


Step 7: Then a new Demo Dashboard as per the name given will be created in a new tab with Page 1 as default and a blank area for you to add your analysis, Prompts, Actions etc. You can add your actions from with the catalog pane.

Step 8: Add an analysis to your dashboard. Drag an analysis from the catalog pane from your own folder and drop it to the content area.

Step 9: Here you will notice that a new column and a new section is added automatically to the content area as the dashboard contents will be displayed in a particular layout.


Step 10: Click on the Section Properties to uncheck the collapsible so that the analysis does not collapse in the section.


Step 11: Now click on the gear icon i.e.  dashboard properties under the tools to change the default settings and to rename or reorder the pages.


Step 12: In the Dashboard Pages Section Select the pages and then click on the rename icon to change the name of the page.


Step 13: Write the name of the page you want it to be displayed on the dashboard.


Step 14: You can now see that the name of your page is changed under the pages column. And click OK.


Step 15: Click on the analysis properties and select the Report Links. Report links are the options by which you can make necessary changes or operations to the analysis.


Step 16: In the Report Link dialog box, select customize radio button and then check the options you want to see under every analysis in the dashboard. And then click OK.


Step 17: Now drag and drop another analysis from the catalog pane to the column inside the same section beside the 1st analysis.


Step 18: Click on the floppy icon to save the dashboard. You can see the message that your dashboard is saved.


Step 19: After saving the dashboard, you can click on the play icon to run the dashboard.


Step 20: Now you will be able to see your dashboard.
